Hi! I'm Kimberly
I'm an artist and photographer based in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
My artistic practice investigates visual perception, sensory experience, and introspection through photographic work. Motivated by curiosity and influenced by surrealism and optical art, I use photography to explore how we construct and interpret reality, how simple visual elements can spark strong responses in the mind, and how the familiar can become ambiguous or transformed. Through alternative processes and digital compositing, I manipulate light, form, and space to create images that shift between recognition and distortion. These visual disruptions reflect the complexity of perception, which is both reliable and deceptive.
